COVID-19 restrictions

Entering in Italy

In order to enter and travel in Italy from any other country (EU and non-EU) it is required to:

  • complete the Passenger Locator Form before departure and submit it to the controlling personnel. Immediately after a successful submission, you will get an email with a QR code to show whoever is in charge of departure checks.
  • submit one of the COVID-19 green certificates or an equivalent certification (completion of vaccination series (within 9 months of last dose) or recovery or swab test)

Read more at italia.it/en/covid19.
For more information see the section Entry into Italy: Covid-19 green certificates, validity, equivalents and exceptions

Traveling back to the US

For US travlers, regardless of vaccination status, you will need to show a negative COVID-19 viral test result taken no more than 1 day before travel (src: US Embassy in Italy). The test can be rapid, as long it is viral. All of the local pharmacies require appointments for such rapid tests and the local team is happy to assist in making those needed reservations. If you require this test, please email info@linuxappsummit.org to request assistance in making a COVID rapid viral test appointment, and we will help.
